bodley hoped that his churches would bring people to their knees, though I find them somewhat gloomy and dull. they tended to be built in poor districts by do-gooders, and have proved to be somewhat impractical and unsuitable, and a burden to their parishes way beyond their aesthetic worth. I think that the ccf could have spent their money better elsewhere, and left the extremely rich university to sort this one out.
