strawberry hill
top of the stair hall, bentley, 1753-4. lacking walpole's furnishings and collections, the house seems, whilst more correct, somewhat colder without the victorian colour, glass and particularly the tiled floor in the hall. jury's out on this aspect of the restoration at present: after all, it's an unfinished job.
