thames tunnel, rotherhithe pumping station

thames tunnel, rotherhithe pumping station
the brunel museum is housed in the engine house used for pumping water from the first tunnel under the thames, built by the brunels c.1843. this is the iron chimney built for the stem engine that powered the pump. the tunnel is now used for trains running on the new london overground line.
