Dumbarton Rock

Rhapsody, graded E11 7a, is a legendary traditional climbing route at Dumbarton Rock, Scotland. It was first climbed by Scottish climber Dave MacLeod in 2006. The route is a direct finish to the earlier climb Requiem, which was established in 1983 by Dave Cuthbertson.

Rhapsody is considered one of the hardest traditional climbing routes in the world due to its combination of extreme technical difficulty and significant danger. The climb involves challenging moves on the headwall above the Requiem crack, with minimal protection and the risk of long falls. MacLeod fell multiple times during his attempts, sustaining injuries but ultimately succeeding after years of dedication.
