Scottish Water's Wee Howf, West Bay Esplanade, Helensburgh

Scottish Water's Wee Howf, West Bay Esplanade, Helensburgh
Helensburgh is Argyll’s largest town, excellently located in a wonderful setting on the Clyde Coast. Within easy reach of the conurbation of Glasgow and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the town already functions as major centre for tourist activities such as golf, cycling, walking and sailing. Quoted from the Argyll and Bute Council website

I find this rather comical, Joe - the pleasant old building blocked by the big square shed! ;-b
What is the oval red thing? It reminds me of a Japanese fish smoker.

It has a slot in which you can put money to help with the restoration of the pier. When I was a child I remember this mine being a giant charity collection box. It disappeared and has recently reappeared near the entrance to the pier. All the best, Joe
