Having picture taken at Disfarmer's

"Disfarmer's reclusive personality and his belief in his own unique superiority as a photographer and as a human being made him somewhat of an oddity to others. Having your picture taken at Disfarmer's studio became one of the main attractions of a trip into town."

Did you see the documentary about him on Teema, maybe one or two years ago. A very interesting one.
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Wierd Folkersma clubThe topic of latest photo assignment by Ted Forbes at The Art of Photography is food. There he showed examples like bell pepper shot by Edward Weston, which can be seen as a parable for human body.
So, I decided to take some portraits =D

There it is said Mike Disfarmer most likely did not see himself as an artist ;-) The way how we define art and artistry is very much changed during last decades.
Disfarmer obviously was skilled and professional. But for example the way he used background was either super lousy or an intentional joke! See the images where Disfamer has used white background with vertical black lines. Placing that line sometimes right behind the subject is just crazy! =D
I am jealous of Disfarmer's photography - and of yours!
