The metallic look is maybe caused by 'Bump Map' used:

I took approximately ten pictures out of bus window, on the move, some unfocused. Then I combined some of them using 'Difference' (Unterschied) layer mode on GIMP. After that of course contrasts enhanced and also some other editing like 'Bump Map'.
