Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme, "ruffles or frills." Daydreaming boy with his face in his hands, unsurprisingly, is my grandfather.

Thanks, Deborah. When I first discovered this photo I was very surprised at the fancy collars on the boys but a little internet research leads me to believe that it was fashionable for boys of affluent families in larger cities in the 1890s. The the girl standing on the left and the boy seated on the left are siblings of my grandfather. The little girl on the right is a half-sister to the three, whose mother died and their father married his wife's sister. The other four are cousins.

Very nice! Interesting hat on the kid sitting on the stump. Looks similar to the style worn with some Civil War uniforms.
