Day 2

I asked the park attendant where I should put my tent. "You can put it over there in the meadow, but it's kinda wet down there."
So I put it in the high gravelly area. Next day, hiked to Hrafntinnusker and back. It rained the last 45 minutes of the hike. I come back to find a river running from tent to tent through my neighborhood.
Mind you, this was the first time I'd used the brand-new tent. I was skeptical at first of the high gunnels, but this sold me.
Luckily the water didn't get in, and I merely had a devil of a time cleaning the mud off the ground cloth for the next week. Unlike the next tent downstream, which had about two inches of mud inside.
