Car trouble - naturally, this happens at 9:00pm the night before our last day with the car, and the spare is the standard-sized tire rather than another big off-road tire. Luckily, like the Land Rover giving up the ghost, it happened along the Ring Road, and not some F-road the middle of nowhere.
The tire issue turned out to be a 4" long network of cracks (not a puncture after all), which took a shop in Hveragerdi an hour and about a pound of patch material to seal. Quite impressive to watch.
