mom's house - william fletcher architect (dad)
snapshots and a few good photos of the house i grew up in, designed by my dad, but my mom's house since i was one years old.
house in the woods - fletcher
living room - mostly open floor plan
this corner of my mother's house is where my husband and i were married. recently my husband wrote words to a song about that day - and the band Eyelids wrote music and recorded it, placing it on their most recent album, The Accidental Falls. so now you are in the know - you can hear the song here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwe8ymXZCPs&ab_channel=Eyelids-Topic [Sorry - apparently it doesn't play in many countries. Should work in U.S, apparently not in the EU or England right now, sorry!]
[edit - just remembered that you can hear the song on spotify, that should be available in other countries: open.spotify.com/album/04dBQvXGhk7URknZGv7Krv?highlight=spotify:track:01oDZ2b2UM6wkidHx1nrIL ]
it is our ceremony! when we renew "vows" one day i told the singer, John Moen, that i want him to come sing the song live.
Ceremony
No vows - but who can keep a vow?
I said my line, My love for you
isn't written in the heavens,
and yet it's to
this act all of my days have led.
She said, I'm surrounded by what
I love, the old-time firs, the rain -
and then she cut
off, laughing? no; I saw her tear
her heart. In a moment, my hand
on her bare shoulder, she went on:
rain shimmering, and
your open arms. A whirl, a wedding,
and oh from that green night to this
I haven't crossed the bridge of dreams
without her kiss.
