Oh Ron, you are so kind. Thank you so much. I'm so glad this appeals to you because I am really happy with hit myself. It is really nice to have film (in this case impossible film for polaroid) to use for certain things. This was taken with my father's SX-70. It is a delight to use.

SX-70? I was wondering what camera took this image. It turned out very sharp! I'm gonna have to get some of that Impossible film for my old SX-70.

You have one? That's great! They are wonderful cameras.

As to impossible film, now you need to buy Polaroid film again. the Impossible project worked well enough that they got the rights to use the Polaroid name! Their black and white film now is great. If you want kind of funky results you just have to let the film get old. Their color is still somewhat a work in progress, but really very good. I'm happy with all of it.

I am so impressed that you used a real Polaroid! Where did you find the film? That explains the dreamy look of this shot.

I use Impossible film, it's a company that took over the last polaroid film factory. they refurbished and came up with new - not so highly toxic - chemical formulas so the cameras could continue to be used. they even refurbish cameras and sell them. I've been with them buying there films in progress since almost the start. I actually love their not so perfect earlier attempts, but the now quite good film is wonderful as well. I buy online, but we have a few stores in town that also carry it. It's not cheap, but working with film never was. It certainly makes me think more before I snap.

Thanks for your comment on my dried Irish Eyes, and I have to agree with you--irises can be hard to appreciate when they are dead...though I HAVE taken some interesting images of them. I haven't processed them, but you know, it's a good challenge: how can you approach a subject that doesn't appeal to you, and make it something that you appreciate after you're done processing? :)

Something drew you to start the photo of the dead iris - you probably just have to find that draw again and try and bring it out in the processing. Or just move on with your life! ha! I can't bring myself to get anywhere near them, they just seem so yucky to me. But I'd lvoe to see if you ever finish one and see if I can find new interest in them.
