Mit einer Casa Particular (kubanischer Begriff für Ferienwohnung), kommt man mit dem Leben in Kuba so eng in Kontakt, wie es bei einem Aufenthalt im Hotel nicht möglich ist. Zudem ist der Preis unvergleichlich und die Leistungen, was die Verpflegung betrifft, sind genial. Die Zimmer unterliegen dem "freien Markt", d.h. dass die Vermieter am Wohlergehen der Gäste interessiert sind, was bei den staatlichen Hotels nicht immer der Fall ist.
Dieses Zimmer kostete 2010 20 CUC (ca. € 20.-) und die Verpflegung (Nachtessen und Frühstück) = 8 CUC (ca. € 8.-).
