Hen Pheasant - East Blatchington garden - 28 8 2022

Hen Pheasant - East Blatchington garden - 28 8 2022
I don't know who was more startled - me or this hen pheasant, when I found it in my green house. She had the good sense to leave via the open roof window and disappeared into the shrubbery at the far corner of the garden. She hung around long enough for me to get my camera. She eventually left over the fence pursued by Oscar, one of the many cats that frequent our garden.
According to my brother-in-law - she looks to be a young bird, hatched this spring.

Not all those landing in that corner of the garden have been so pleasant. This scene occurred while we were eating our lunch.

That corner of the garden with a bit of a thicket to hide in, seems to be a favoured spot for unusual visitors. This is another game bird that arrived at a meal-time.

Thanks, Jaap. Collages seem to be a good way to picture wildlife from different angles.
I hope your week is going well.

Thank you for the compliment. It is much appreciated coming from such an accomplished photographer. Your brilliant air-to-air photos make me wonder if you are a professional.
