Go Ahead London YX11 CPK Seaford 24 2 2022

I don't know what this stranger was doing pulled up outside our railway station. I think that the trains were running, but it could have been used for a rail replacement bus service. I haven't seen this Go Ahead London livery before and looking online this may be the only vehicle with it. I believe that there is a requirement for buses working primarily in London to have red as a large proportion of their colour scheme.

The vehicle in your photograph is in the fleet of the Go-Ahead London Commercial Department which carries out open market non TfL work. This includes, as you rightly say, rail replacement plus the likes of school and other contracts, private hires, events etc. Such vehicles in this fleet are usually cascaded from the TfL service fleet having reached the maximum age for TfL contracts (7 or 8 years of age I think). This bus was new in April 2011.
