The botanist Sarah Raven says that when cultivated using methods, like rhubarb growers use, to deprive the plants of light, it is tender and delicious when cooked. She says picking it in the wild is not a good idea as many of its habitats are wild-life conservation areas. Anyway I think that it would be a bit tough. My Dad said eating ordinary kale was like eating stewed umbrellas.
