A pattern of six squares reshaped with PSE distort/polar coordinate, recoloured with grad maps, pixelated & inverted to black with coloured edges with glowing edges. Blocks were coloured & the image copied, the top layer skewed & copied in various sizes and then littered about the place. Only later did I think that the scarlet shapes looked vaguely canine.
