Sharpness Docks sign on sale in Rye, East Sussex - 16.8.2007

I find it a bit sad that historic artefacts like this get separated from their original locality.
The message is a bit imprecise to our eyes, but when one didn't have loads or vehicles with specified weights, I suppose that this was saying "This is OK for general use, but if you have a big load or heavy vehicle consider whether the bridge can carry it."
This type of quirky sign is often copied. so this could be a repro.
