Erasmus the Dragon ..
a new sculpture at the Children's Museum
has large wings
horns
and
a gentle, friendly "come climb on me" message
to all the children who want to see 'who is that new person ?'

I am ..
New here -
Try to stay calm as things tend to swirl about me -
A nice lady with a camera asked if she could take my photo -
Said hundreds, if not thousands of people all over the World would see me -
She said a group shares photos -
Meets people from far away -
And maybe just down the street (like me) -
But, the group is having some problems -
It sounded way over my head -
So, I just asked her to tell all those other people with cameras -
Best wishes in their Project -
To keep sharing -
And making Friendships all over this World -
They shouldn't have worries about something they love -
I have 'no worries', .. uses too much time -

.. shirt off my back
some people are so nice -
they would literally -
give you the shirt off their back -
but, there is no person here -
just the shirt -
the sculpture is called 'Blue Collar', by Mike Richardson -
the local paper showed a young girl with her head -
poking out the top of the shirt -
recycled materials used for this one, also -
doesn't is just make you feel good inside -
when people elect to use something already around -
like those of us who go to consignment / thrift stores -
instead of opting for newly made items -
course, that isn't always a possibility -
but, we have ' discovered ' awesome -
gently used items for our home -

.. little bit of everything
right side, next to blue pole is a dog sculpture of re-purposed materials ..
to his left, the circle / lines and part of gymnast at the top ..
are for children to climb on at the Museum ..
the brightly colored sculptures are also designed with children in mind ..
they get to climb & swing on them - not the ''don't touch'' that usually is with a Museum ..
now, the lady / Mermaid in white ..
she is new ..
perhaps she is near the fountain in case she needs to go for a dip ...

Daylily times three ..
down the road at the Arts Council -
new Art has been added to the existing outdoor pieces -
this is one I like -
I am a person who likes to look at Art -
and not have to stand on my head to figure it out -
or heaven forbid -
ask somebody 'what does this mean?' -
there is some of that art [ lowercase ] -
might put some of it up -
not decided -
there is one -
absolutely not -
makes no sense so won't even post it -
so, this was my trip [sort of a side trip, since I had to get groceries] -
makes getting groceries a better task -

"The Ashe County Cheese Factory has been producing fine, quality cheese since 1930. It began when the Kraft Corporation helped communities consolidate several small plants into one larger one where cheddar daisy wheels could be produced for the entire country. Kraft operated the plant for many years and sold it in 1975. After that, the factory itself and company have changed hands several times until 2004 when the plant and store companies were split into two separate companies. The cheese-making factory plant and the store across the street have all undergone numerous renovations and upgrades over the decades.
The Ashe County Cheese Factory posts Cheese Making Schedule times for daily viewing times when you and your group can stop in and see cheese being made. The plant viewing room allows you to see the day to day operation and how cheese is made and shipped. If you visit the Ashe County Cheese Factory cheese store across the street you can purchase numerous cheese varieties, as well as other types of locally crafted food items and handmade fineries such as hand milled soaps.
The Ashe County Cheese Factory is a small, unassuming factory that welcomes you to stop in and see cheese being made. If you and your kids love cheese - this is the place to stop! In addition to the Ashe County Cheese Factory."
