I checked the Kaufman (p.196)as I can see a dot below the curve.. Checked for the markings and its a Winter form Question Mark (Polygonia interrogationis)

Very beautiful (both butterfly and flowers). Lovely light. (I'm amazed that people can distinguish the white mark under the wing. Viewing it large and using a magnifying glass I barely saw a vague, shapeless, tiny white spot. I dread to think what my photos look like to people with good vision. I guess I must take my eye doctor's suggestion and undergo cataract surgery :( ).
