Peggy C club has replied to Pam J clubThe story behind TCG .. Tin Can Gypzee is this. Our American-Style Tribal [ bellydance ] group was invited to march/dance in the Founder's Day Parade in Zephyrhills, Florida -- it is a Historical Event which has a different yearly theme.
That particular year was about the people who came to vacation in Florida -- not those who went to Miami and built mansions, but those who traveled by auto... Model Ts or Tin Lizzies.
We chose to dress as gypzees might have looked if they traveled along with the Tin Lizzies ..
Thought our group name should change - so we became the Tin Can Gypzees [ after all, tin cans come in all sizes, shapes and colors .. just like us. ]
