Story of the tree ..

in these branches and under the bark ..
I have heard many voices of children as they go by..
listened with strands of Spanish Moss as grown ups
try to explain why they did what they did ..
my leaves have caught wings of hope drifting out
an open window of the home over there ..

I am the tree on your street ..
perhaps I look a bit different, yet we are alike..

we care for our people..

all we ask in return..
care for us ..
