A dry summer
World Photography Day 19th August 2022

Just like much of Europe, the UK has had a very dry summer, particularly in the South of England. I had hoped to get a photo which emphasised this drought but, not only has there been some rain this week, it also rained on this very day (as you can probably tell from the dark clouds).

We are used to these colors in Shropshire, but we had quite a lot of rain today and it is much cooler, so things will start to improve.

Somehow I feel like having the clouds emphasises the drought - why still yellow fields even in the face of recent rain. But the clouds certainly don't spoil the photo! It is lovely and well composed.

Is this near where you live? Or did you need to travel out and about to find this for our event? Was that a good prompt for you?
