1993 Orbitel 902 Pocketphone made in Basingstoke, Hampshire by Racal for Vodafone. Ericsson took a 50 % share in the company and ultimately complete ownership of it. The first text message was from Basingstoke to Vodafone in Newbury during their Xmas party. The message from the engineers was--Merry Christmas.

Looks similar to my first mobile, a Motorola (forget the model name). Had it for about 6 months from work in 1992. Good fun if unwieldy by today's standards, The battery charger was enormous!
