Blue-fronted Dancer's (Argia apicalis) (m)Damselflies

The pond is now greatly reduced. No longer flooded and nearly 10 feet deep.. but closer now to 3.5 feet deep.
The Dragonflies and Damselflies are still here .
EXPLORED !

Pam J club has replied to Peggy C cluband just what is the difference between a damselfly and a dragon fly? is it just the ocean?
hot diggity girl this is an awesome shot, that blue is just decadent my love!
we are not flooding but I tell ya it sure as hell is wet .. the lake is still just below the flood line gawd, we went from the worst fire season ever and early too to one of the wettest crappiest of summers.. this morning it was +3 when I got up.. that is 3 measly degrees above freezing! and that was not the first time.. my flowers are about beat down now.
Pam J club has replied to Shuttering YukonWish I had thought of that !! I have one stack of 7 !
Nope.. 2 different species.... Damsel's are smaller too.
I feel for you.... isnt it just a case of being careful what you wish for... 9 years of drought to 300 year flood........
Two weeks ago with the heat index 135F.... now 84F... and still awful humidity.. but I will take it. I do cold ALOT better.... and I am expecting it this winter. Nothing like you have.. but I think we will be back to ice storms
Hugssssssssssssssss

I visited a group of small lakes, or better to say large ponds earlier in the year, there were many Damsels there but never saw more than two close together.
Pam J club has replied to Stormlizard clubBecause of the Deluges and flooding I had a pond.... normally havent seen these in the 9 years of drought.
I used to love watching them when I used to trout fish in England !
