Mrs Ruby Throated Hummingbird on the Post Oak

This is the first halfway decent pic of a Hummingbird I have been able to take in 4 years. She is my nesting female... but the wildlife and birds are seriously affected ... many deaths... many young lost with this appalling weather.

Its a rough night (weekend) here. Tornados and flooding ... flooding and tornados. Electricity and Internet are in and out...

What a beautiful little hummingbird! I don't see enough of these.

We happened to pass through your neck of the woods just yesterday ... fortunately for us, a day after the the flooding and in between a couple of storm outbreaks. We managed to avoid everything, but it's horrible to see a place having to go through all that over and over again. Hopefully, the patterns will change soon. I hope for the best!

I have dual citizenship now as it was and is the only way I and others like me have any security at all. "Permanent Visa" ..isnt...

I also wanted to Vote.. I pay taxes.. and was brought up with the ethic of responsibility.

This isnt the time or place .. but I was treated badly.. as are many.

We're the ones who are supposed to get all the rain here in the Pacific Northwest and with the low snowpack and minimal rain, it is already very dry here. Hope we don't get a repeat of last year's wildfires.

Ron... we had nine years of drought.. we have done the wildfires. We were withing 5 miles of evacuation. You can bet by end August we will be scorched out there again too. Meantime..... I have to burn 10 foot wide x 6 foot high piles of downed trees while we are still wet.

They are so small and you zoomed in on this one so well, Pam.
I have never seen a hummer out of captivity, and I doubt if I ever will as I'll never cross the Big Pond again. Hated being treated as a 2nd class citizen by officials who did not know what country Europe is in!
