Remember~'Blood Swept Lands And Seas of Red' Poppy from the installation to commemorate the 100 years since World War 1

My Poppy from the Tower Of London "Blood Swept Lands And Seas of Red" installation to commemorate the 100 years since World War I has just arrived.
I didnt know it was it.. and I opened the box and was hit with a huge emotional wave. I just stood and cried. It still has earth on from the Tower of London (that in itself is so emotive... my Home.. My England that I miss so much. I used to walk past the Tower daily when I did my apprentiship). The impact of finally seeing this Poppy ... one of 888,246 that represents someone who died in World War I was an enormous emotional hit.
I have now assembled the Poppy.. it means so very very much to me. I was brought up to Honour the Poppies and ALL they represented. This is a special thing for me.

So beautiful that each is different .
Pam J club has replied to JanFor now it is on the mantle step base (the mantle you see in the Christmas photos.) I am going to try to get a decent dark red glass vase to stand it in. It is top heavy.. so whatever it goes in will have to be filled with pebbles ! We shall see.. its laying down right now !

L'image de tous ces coquelicots rassemblés est splendide !
Pam J club has replied to Esther clubI actually have known of this cemetery. A have a friend of some years on a doggie site I am on. He hikes extensively... and have been there several times.. and has sent me photos. He says its a very peaceful place.
I am very fond of all of the "War poets" ... the men who were there....
