Unexpected consolation to loosing 10 years of digital photo archives kept on a hard drive.
I browsed contents of some forgotten CDs and found a real treasure trove of happy moments captured when my Dad was with us and my house was awaiting renovation.

La sauvegarde des archives numériques est un problème. Moi, je multiplie les sauvegardes sur plusieurs disques durs externes et tous les an, je fais une nouvelle sauvegarde car les jpg et même les raw s'altèrent avec le temps. Seule solution convertir en tiff plus stable dans le temps.ce qui n'empêche de faire au moins deux sauvegarde d'une même photos sur deux disques durs distincts. Un problème électromagnétique est vite arrivé. Sinon, il y a toujours la possibilité de retravailler en argentique :)

When my (very) old computer mainboard disk controller messed up the GPT of my backup drive I was annoyed and planned to hack the file system and bring data back.
But then I thought: what the heck! These were only digital notes. What is important is stored @film negatives. En argentique :D

No he wasn't.
But he liked to wear my shirts.
Actually giving him one of my t-shirts was the best bribe making him stay and allow me to take some photos.
