Independence Day in Sulejówek
At least 1000 bikers gathered this year in Sulejówek to form annual
MotoParada Niepodległości.
MotoParade starts every year in Sulejówek
before it proceeds into Warsaw to join the Independence March there.

Olympus XA + Kentmere 400 + Kodak HC-110 (Dil.B)
That's the first time I loaded XA with Kentmere
and I found it better than what reviews say.

Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to micelotThese are magnificent people :) and magnificent machines :)
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to J. Gafarot clubBut here in Poland it is nothing like that.
Actually it is family sort of thing.
Just like it was 80 years ago.
See my biker family:
Marta Wojtkowska club has replied to ThorstenWhy on earth???
Thorsten has replied to Marta Wojtkowska clubBut in many states societies are moving away from free democratic ideas (e.g. human rights, tolerance, freedom of the press etc.).
So national holidays and similar events (also in Germany) become, in my opinion, the platform for a body of thought against which the world successfully fought in the Second World War. So it is incomprehensible to me that it is spreading again in states whose fathers and grandfathers have sacrificed their lives for freedom and human rights. I experience it in my neighbouring village every year. There is a memorial, which remembers the victims and the suffering of the 2nd World War and that this is never repeated again. But it's "abused" by neo-Nazis celebrating "their heroes".
My English is unfortunately not so good to express my feelings that I had with your photo.
To your photo:
Perhaps it is a big prejudice and I defame now 1000 innocent motorcyclists. But such a large motorcycle parade is a martial event and many motor groups or associations are - carefully formulated - not very democratically aligned. That's why it's hard for me to say: This is a great photo or a great street scene. For some it's a great motorcycle spectacle. I found it very thoughtful these days.
But maybe I see it completely wrong.
I am very sorry to see that your personal observations and - perhaps - historical and current context of what you see in your country makes you uneasy when you are looking at my recent shots.
Obviously you are not completely wrong. You are just projecting what you are familiar with and misinterpreting social phenomena that are seemingly similar to what you suffer but - in fact - are very different.
To avoid politics (and how international media depict my country) I'll give one example of something that you are not probably aware of:
There are no biker gangs in Poland. There are sporadic incidents, of course.
But the bikers' community is so strong, so tight-knit, and so stern to enforce traditional family values that it effectively discourages any unlawful behavior inside motorcycle clubs and around.
Hence no biker gangs in Poland.
I know, I know... it's hard to believe... But that's how it is here :)
Likewise, we could now discuss the term "traditional family values" in a modern 21st century society. What are these values and what does enforcement mean? What is the attitude towards same-sex marriages in this case? But this is a general question not only related to bikers. And it is current everywhere, not only in Poland.
So I could ask many more questions. But we are here in a photo club and not in a political talk show.
Thank you for this short but informative discussion. :-)
Thank you very much!
Today I ordered three Kentmere 400 rolls for (approaching) winter shots :)
