Accession # 55.121.3
This figure is one of hundreds of Persian guards represented on the stairway entrance to one of the monumental palaces at Persepolis. On the shoulder, he carries a quiver and bow, terminating in a bird's head. Similar guards appear on colored, glazed bricks from Susa.
