Around the radio

Another of my father's photographs. I am pretty sure my father is in naval uniform next to the radio. Many of the other people in this image appear in the "Mystery wedding" photograph. I guess the image dates to the end of World War II.
Update: The photograph was taken on 4 April 1943 by Calcraft (a Daily Herald staff photographer). The general heading for the assignment was:
Able Seaman John Alfred Lockyear, naval prisoner of war recently released from Italy, broadcasts home to his family from Cairo.
The caption information noted in the day book for negative number K19754 reads:
The family listen in to the message, from Woodchester Street, Paddington.
