Great Spotted Woodpecker

Taken in my garden through double glazing and at high iso, so these are not the best quality. I'm happy with them as record shots though. They've been visiting my garden for about a week now. The one in the right hand shot hiding behind the feeder is a juvenile and we were able to watch the adult stuffing huge amounts of food into it :-)

Charming photo! Is that suet stuffed with seeds? On second thought, maybe it's too warm for suet.

Glad you like the shot Diane. You're right, it's a high protein suet block with added seed and bits of insects. Shop bought. The Woodpeckers have been coming down twice a day to feed on it.
