Juvenile Starling

Juvenile Starling
Spotted this youngster under a tree taking in the sunshine. I had time to grab just this one shot before it's parents became agitated and I left them in peace.

Thanks Anton............glad you like it.

Starlings are becoming quite scarce in some parts of the UK. No one seems to know why. I love to watch the murmurations and there are a couple of places to go and see them - but they'll have to wait until we're able to get out and about again! I can't see why people want to chase them away!!

Jean Paul

Ha, ha..........I make a point of sending them in your direction Jean Paul and I tell them what wonderful cherries and figs you have for them to steal :-))

i agree that not everyone likes starlings and that they can sometimes be a nuisance and very destructive. I'm lucky in that I've never been affected by them in that way.

I do believe that that they (in common with lots of other animals and birds) only cause problems for us humans because we've built on or otherwise destroyed their natural environment. Sometimes they have no choice to encroach on our environment to survive.
