Beach Huts

wonderful light!

What a nice example of super leading lines! "Follow the tops of the goyne and then along the wall" :D Nice huts too...another neat beach hut picture to enjoy! Also, I learned a new word: groyne (or also spelled groin): "A low wall or sturdy barrier built out into the sea from a beach to check erosion and drifting." NEATO! :)

Interesting that the sand can move that much! I wonder...do you have a picture of this spot where more (or less) of them are shown due to shifting sand?

Keith, I know I've said it before but let me say it again...your remarks are just so nice to read. You and I see eye to eye on what makes a good picture and when you consistently point out what I really liked about a picture I've posted, it just makes my day! :) So thank you. *big hugs*

And finally, lol, yeah, our significant others are sure to get a bit on the tired side because we just can't stop taking pictures! :D I am very bad though...I get so sucked away that sometimes Steve needs to walk back to find me and pull me along by my ear again...lol...ah, such is our plight... so many neat things to photograph! :D

Wunderschönes Licht! Wären Leute am Strand mit Badezeug, dann könnte man es für ein Sommerbild halten. Aber ohne Menschen kommt die Pfostenlinie besser zur Geltung.

Thanks Wilhelm............the trouble with this place is that in the warm summer months you can hardly see the beach for people!! I usually only go when it's quiet (and cold).

Another beach hut scene from you Keith. I once had a full album of these too. Great for colour and interest. Good that the diagonal of the groynes take our eye unnervingly to the main hut too.

Beautifully composed with the diagonal line of the groynes. The winter sunlight makes for lovely warm colours.

I like the colourful huts. Each hut has its own character. Especially I like the way how the groyne leads into the picture.

From the other comments and replies Keith, I take it this is an expensive area and pretty busy in the summer months. It's a superb shot that is perfectly balanced. I love a beach hut, but will definitely think of visiting out of season :)

Yes Rosa......spot on. Out of season on a sunny day is perfect. If it's windy try not to change lenses - the sand gets everywhere! Glad you like the shot.
