Crispy Lichen anyone!

Crispy Lichen anyone!
Spotted this unusual lichen on the branch of a tree and thought it was pretty cool!

A quick Google reveals that this one is commonly called "Oakmoss" or less commonly, "Evernia Prunastri". Still more Googling turned up a recipe for "Crispy lichen seasoned with dried egg yolk, lightly smoked fish and soured garlic cream" but I think I'll be giving that a miss!!!

This is beautiful, Keith! A lovely, detailed capture of this moss which I am extremely familiar with! :) In fact, it grows all over everything out here, since our forest is mostly Oak! :) This lichen covers all the dead branches and grows all over the place here! Not easy to take a good picture of it, so WELL DONE!!!! Very nice job!!! :)

It does a bit...............it's quite common in my part of the UK and can be very attractive. Thanks for inviting me to join your new group!
