Perhaps the culprit

We have found a couple of dead voles in our garden the past weeks. We assumed the predator was a neighbour's cat having a little sport. But today while I was leaning over the deck rail, this fellow poked his head out from a pile of clippings. He may be the culprit.

I *think* it is a short-tailed weasel.
