Nic, the day of his (successful) PhD defence

I finally got developed a roll of very well expired Portra (like about
2006, if I remember correctly), shot in my Mamiyaflex. It included
this picture of Nic when he visited me a couple of hours before he had
his PhD defence last winter. He was successful.
This is a crop, about one-sixth of the image.
This was a test of some software I bought two years ago and hated; the
software, PortraitPro made real people into embalmed corpses, I
thought. Testing today was to try and find a way to be able to use
it. And using it very very subtley, it isn't bad, as here.
