Midland Prince

Unlike most of Mr. Borucki's prints, there's no explanatory note on the back of this photo. I'm guessing it dates from the late 1940s or early 1950s; I'm not guessing about the location. If someone has ideas, feel free to contribute.
Collingwood Shipyard's hull no. 9, launched December 5, 1906 (many sources have a 1907 launch date) for the Midland Navigation Company, which would be absorbed into CSL in 1913 after a stint under another name. At the time of its launch, Midland Prince was Canada's largest laker. This ship had a major fire in 1925. After repairs which included a self-unloader conversion it was relaunched in 1929. Retired from service after the 1967 season; broken up in 1969.
