Triphora trianthophora (Three-birds orchid)


These images are the result of a day trip to the Pisgah National Forest, Transylvania County, North Carolina. I went up there to find Yellow Fringed orchids and Southern Slender Ladies'-tresses orchids, but ended up with something a lot more special -- the rare albiflora form of the Three-birds orchid.
