Corallorhiza maculata var. maculata forma immaculata (Unspotted Spotted Coralroot orchid)


After a tortuous drive up a mountain that seemed like it took hours, we finally arrived at the remote location, dust covered and ready to see some orchids.
Well, that's just what we did! Our field trip coordinators had done their job very well. The steep slopes were sprinkled for hundreds of yards with numerous clumps of both Spotted Coralroot orchids and Striped Coralroot orchids. Since neither of these species grows near where I live, it was quite nice to see so many color forms of each of these species. What a treat!...
