I envy you! For many years I had an open invite to visit here and stay with the parents of a godson, but it never happened due to all sorts of annoying reasons (money mainly!), so I much regret that and over time, contact has sadly been lost ... :o(

Un arbre flamboyant ...mais il ne s'agit pas d'un flamboyant (qui ne pousse pas à cette altitude (1000m).
Nous sommes dans l'hiver mais là-bas c'est bien l'été (saisons inversées) et, tu as raison, la saison pluvieuse, même si la sécheresse frappe encore l'Ouest de l'île.

You are right, Rosa: the landscapes here are so different from those in Europe. I really like these mountain villages on Reunion Island, it's quieter than on the coast, the climate is cool without ever being really cold, the rains are generally quite abundant so everything grows and when you go out from the village we find ourselves in the thick and a little scary jungle but I love it!!!!

La réunion bien que relativement petite (superficie du dpt des Yvelines) offre des paysages très variés en fonction de l'altitude et de l'exposition aux vents et aux pluies! Ca fait la 4e fois qu'on y retourne (une de mes filles vit et travaille là-bas depuis 4 ans) et le dépaysement est toujours aussi intense!!! (Dommage que ce soit si loin......................)

J'aime beaucoup l'intérieur de l'île (les "Hauts"): le climat n'y est jamais trop chaud, jamais trop froid, la brume y est fréquente mais donne du charme à ces paysages tropicaux.
