1066 : c'est la date à laquelle Guillaume-le-Conquérant a fait construire sa flotte, et a embarqué au départ de Dives-sur-Mer pour la conquête de l'Angleterre, accompagné de 700 à 1000 navires et de 7000 à 8000 hommes.

Le « village de Guillaume le Conquérant
Situé au cœur de la ville de Dives-sur-Mer, ce lieu dit Village d’Art, très riche de l’histoire, de l’architecture et des traditions, est singulier sur toute la Côte Fleurie en Normandie.
La partie la plus ancienne date du XVe siècle. L'architecture est typique de l'auberge normande avec sa vaste cuisine, sa cour intérieure et ses galeries extérieures pour accéder aux chambres.

Totally fabulous!!! This is the sort of thing you travel to go see because it's that cool and impressive. I would love to see this place. It's just so cool. The architecture is so beautiful. Perfect details everywhere. It seems straight out of a fantasy movie.

William the Conqueror was long dead when this village was built in the 15th century !!!!!
It is actually the traders who are in this village who gave the name of "Village of William the Conqueror" because it left there to conquer England.
