I am the Mulching Queen.
Every couple days I run out with my lawn mower and vigorously mow down the piles of dead leaves that blow into my yard.

On my to-do list was replacing the worn out water hydrant at the barn. Trying to hold a seven foot tall hydrant steady hanging upside down into a four and a half foot deep hole isn't exactly easy. Thank heavens for inborn Yankee ingenuity.

I had two contractors tell me I needed a backhoe to dig up the old hydrant and knowledgeable men to fit the pipes. Never tell a stubborn New England born woman they won't be able to accomplish a task without machinery and men. Did it myself with hand tools and determination.

Time to get that firewood into the barn! This is the start of a perfect staycation. One whole week, one long list of pre-winter chores!
