The donkey planter is guarding my tire garden. This year I moved the tire garden to a more sunny spot and planted sugar pumpkins, white pumpkins, zucchini, summer squash, and one watermelon plant for good measure.

I picked up this bird bath last year for a pittance - it was rusty and the top was detached. Took it to a local welder and had it fixed, then hit it with some black paint. I love it!

Caught this snapping turtle digging a nest near the edge of a small swampy area. I was worried she'd wander into the road since she couldn't see, but when she was done she turned and slid down the embankment and into the water, and the clod of dirt slid off her head.

I picked up this old fireplace insert at a yard sale; I'm hoping to use it as a fire pit but maybe it'll just be a cat perch...who knows.

I'm constantly finding bits of glass, shards of ceramic dishes, old nails, and whatnot in the mule paddock. Today what I thought was a piece of glass turned out to be the smallest bottle I've ever seen.

Ah, spring...time for the annual Clipping o' the Flea. Two sets of clippers, two blades, one shaggy little mule. Both blades were dull before I could complete his body clip, but Flea was happy to be mostly winter coat free. Fargo sheds beautifully so all he ever really needs is his mane roached, which also happened.
