The crik.


Above the crik to the right you can see a white mound beyond the trees. That is one humongous beaver lodge. Two years ago when we bought Soggy Bottom Hollow, there was only the main brook. Thanks to the Industrious Bucktoothed Family, we now have this crik diverted through our property, breaking up our land. We did have a trapper out, but after he trapped two mink, one beaver, a trout and most depressingly, an otter, we gave him the boot. Otters are one of my favorite creatures, and I'll suffer losing my property inch by inch to the beaver if it means saving the otter.
