I do not wish to complicate but there is a quid pro quo with those "Knots" for in Portuguese they also mean "us". So, Nós, knot, may also designate a fishing (or other) "knot" ( twist in the line) or Us. The House of Bragança, the last monarchy of the country, when they received from the previous dynasty the obligation to rule the country, answered : Sim, depois ( after) de vós (You), Nós (Us)
Thus the use of these special forms, that I had showed in Evoramonte.
