Just to cross the t and dot the i on this subject:
Please do remember that in the very South of the country there is a very old village by the Guadiana River with the name Castro Marim ( the Phoenicians took salt and other things from there). And on the very North of Portugal there is an ancient village known because they still breed what is probably the oldest shepherd dog of Iberia, now almost in extinction ( but I am the proud owner of one ...) called Castro Laboreiro.
