This is one of the first domestic wireless broadcast receivers. The Marconiphone two-valve receiver type V2 was the first to be designed exclusively for broadcast reception, and under normal condition it would give clear reception on headphones within a range of 100 miles.
A loudspeaker could be used with the addition of a two-stage amplifier.
