Meet Sheila

Meet Sheila
It has been forever since I've had a puppy and there's nothing like tiny teeth chewing on your earlobe to wake a fella up! lol She got me up about every hour ... to an hour and a half and wanted outside. A bit rough, but she peed and pooped about every time she went out and so that was definitely a win last night! I took her for her first walk on a leash this morning and that lasted only till we got out of sight of her yard and she wanted to go back home then. I think Sheila was the right name for her, but considering her current size and coloring ... Possum was a real temptation! lol I'm sure she will grow out of that look though! :-)

The first night we had our first puppy, many years ago, he slept in a basket on the floor right next to my side of the bed. He couldn't sleep and we couldn't either but when I let my arm hang over in to the basket and he could feel my hand, he cuddled up and slept off and on which was a relief. We ended up calling him, Wink, as we hardly slept a wink that first night!

Thankfully they do find a routine quickly and everyone can get a good nights sleep! He was a very funny dog and we enjoyed his antics for 15 years.

Sounds like Wink was a good one! Sheila pretty much sleeps with me at night. During the day she has her favorite spot in the laundry room ... where she can keep an eye on me! :-)

Our dogs never really wanted to sleep with us but the cats were another story! lol Sounds like she wants to be in eye contact with you at this point. :) She's going to be a lot of company for you, now if you train her to use a hammer and nails. :)

She is like most kids ... something scares her and she wants to be close to me! I expect as time goes on she will move around the house with her sleeping. Dram and Tawny liked to sleep on the A/C ducts. She keeps an eye on me to make sure I don't go outside without her!

Bet when it get's hot outside, she will find the A/C ducts as well! You are here security blanket right now and she doesn't want to take a chance on missing on a walk. :) Take care Norm.
