The Big Tunnel

One of the longest railroad tunnels in Indiana. This image came from one of my many mystery rolls of film I recently developed. The rolls were misplaced and set in storage ... and in this case ... since 1992.
Big Tunnel on CSX(B&O) east of Tunnelton, IN.
Willow Valley Tunnel on CSX (B&O) at Willow Valley, IN.
Indian Springs Tunnel on the SOO just north of Indian Springs. Tunnel is inside the Crane Military base and is not accessable to the public.
Duncan Tunnel on the NS just east of Georgetown. This is Indiana's longest tunnel.
Temple Tunnel on the NS east of English, IN.
English Tunnel on the NS west of English. (Between English and Taswell).
Unionville Tunnel on the INRD east of New Unionville. Indiana's shortest active tunnel.
FrenchLick tunnel on the Indiana Railway Museums former SR branch from West Baden to Huntingburg.
Here's a list of abandoned or daylighted Tunnels in Indiana:
Georgetown Tunnel on the NS west of Georgetown. Daylighted.
Depauw Tunnel on the NS east of Depauw, IN. New track was built around this tunnel with a deep cut. Tunnel is still there but both ends are blocked up.
Owensburg Tunnel on the Monon's B&B branch just north of Owensburg. Branch was abandoned in the 30's. Tunnel is collapsed and ends are blocked.
Little Tunnel west of Tunnelton on the CSX former B&O. Daylighted around 1899.
Another tunnel was started on by the Indianapolis Southern near Stanford, IN. It was never completed though because the railroad decided to take a different route once the IC got involved in its construction.
